  • Notes  Married:
    • Under BICKNOF/BAGNELL/BRIGNELL, "New England Marriages Prior to 1700" records the year as 1654 (Banns) in Charlestown, MA, and says that Martha is BRIGNALL's 2nd wife; also that she is the widow of Christopher SMYTH and that she marries Nathaniel STOW in 1662. A second entry under BRIGNALL doesn't include a date or Christopher SMYTH, but does include Nathaniel STOW and has a location of Dedham, MA, for this marriage. There does not seem to be a strong argument for Martha's marriage to a Christopher SMITH/SMYTH. One date used is 2 Aug 1654, and that's the date Martha's brother Michael's widow (Mary FAIRBANKS) marries Christopher SMITH.
